Busy, Busy, Busy...

Happy Friday! We have much to report since our last entry. ODEPNYC has been busy scouting new vendors and ideas that will help make this year one to remember. Our first new obsession comes from brilliant blogger Christine Best of BlissFull Essence, Evenswood Albums and Well Spun Wedding Films.

BlissFull Essence (www.blissfullessence.com) is a one stop blog shop for everything you could possibly need; covering weddings, home and garden, babies and kids trends. BlissFull Essence is a highlight of Christine’s favorite blogs and finds on the every growing Internet. Each of her aptly titled headers will leave you feeling warm, cozy and armed with an insane amount of information and products to go out and purchase.

Christine also creates custom handmade albums under her company title Evenswood Albums (www.evenswoodowlbums.com). The personalized pieces of art will commemorate your special event in a very unique and nontraditional way. Each album truly is a masterpiece.

As if all of this wasn’t enough, Christine is our go-to-girl at Well Spun Wedding Films. Well Spun is by far our favorite videography company around. Their videos are timeless and have a 1950’s movie like quality that really compliment the day on film. The staff is amazing and the prices are unbeatable. Check out a few of their videos at www.wellspunweddings.com and get ready to be transported!

Have an eventful weekend!

ODEPNYC
is excited to announce a lot of new happenings this year. To start, we now offer a la carte services. Perhaps you don’t want full service planning; we can do consultation and contract negotiations. Maybe you need help with centerpieces. Well guess what? We can create them for you. Need help finding the perfect dress but don’t know where to start? We will become your personal shopping bridal mavens! We are happy to customize each and every package to suit your specific needs as no two weddings are alike.

Red, White and Beautiful!

Happy 4th of July! Summer is officially here and the only way to celebrate is with a little patriotic style. Whether it be a backyard BBQ or beach extravaganza, you can spruce up your party in more ways than one. Add a few hints of red, white and blue to put everyone in the spirit. Below are a few ideas to help you kick off your weekend the way Uncle Sam intended!

Start by adding a little bit extra to your dessert table by using cut out stars, fresh berries and cream, red, white and blue candies/sprinkles and anything else you can think of that will show off the colors of our flag.

Red, White and Blue Desserts

Chips and dip are always a huge hit. Put your munchies in flag themed cones like the one below.

Have your guests walk around with these refreshing but stylish cocktails! Easy to make and can be prepared ahead of time.

Ingredients:
2 parts Stirrings Authentic Grenadine
2 parts Stirrings Blueberry Martini Mixer
3 parts Smirnoff Vodka

Directions:
Layer by adding grenadine, followed by ice cold vodka poured in slowly as not to disturb the layer of grenadine. Use the spoon again to add the Blueberry Mixer. Decorate with flag toothpick or place either/or raspberries and blue berries on the rim of the glass. Recipe by www.simplystated.realsimple.com

Add a few charming touches to your table by using colored dahlias, in the vase of your choice. Want something a bit more rustic? Opt for an old lemonade jug or tin can. Both items can be found at your local arts and crafts store and can be used as storage containers and paint brush holders after the party.

There is something so magical about running around with Sparklers and lighting up the night sky. Be sure to give each of your guests a few to use throughout the party. They are also a unique way to propose to that special someone. Spell out ‘I <3 U’ or simply draw a heart and tell the one you love exactly what how you feel!

We can’t forget about the kids. Give them ample amounts of art and craft projects such as a 4th of July sand container. Use red, white and blue sand and let their imaginations take over.

ODEPNYC wishes you and your families a very safe, happy and event filled holiday weekend!

Custom Essentials

This week I received so many emails regarding photographers, videographers, florists, etc. By far, my two favorites were http://www.etsy.com/ and http://www.customizedweddingcreations.com/. Enjoy and have a great weekend!

Etsy
is a very unique marketplace for artists to sell their goods. There are so many talented and wonderful people retailing here. It is a bit overwhelming at first but take some time to sort through and I promise you will come across very interesting pieces for both your wedding and ever after. One of my favorites are the custom bride and groom signs by Nana from “The Family Attic”. She is such a sweet lady and her proceeds go towards her family farm in Oaklahoma.

Cherin of "Customized Wedding Creations" is amazing. She does custom aisle runners at an amazing price. Her turn around time is like nothing you’ve ever seen. Whether it be a leopard or hand painted runner, she is the woman to go to. She also has a great assortment of other wedding goodies that will help make your day special. The best part is, once the wedding is over you can use the aisle as a runner in your home or even as a piece of art work. The possibilities are endless.
